Good Things Come to Them That Wait

Patience is a virtue, and if you ever had to wait, you understand why. I always heard good things come to them that wait, but when you are the one waiting it, seems to be the furthest from the truth. I would say, hold on and be patient because what is to come is worth the wait.

This week my family and I were still working on our yard. This was a significant undertaking that none one of us expected. We were working, lifting, digging and more. At one point, we felt like we should have planned this out or recruited some help. Then out of nowhere, a man comes up to us to offer yard services. We did finish the front part of the yard ourselves.  He walked around our yard with me and told me what he could do, and of course, it all sounded fantastic, but in the back of my mind I was thinking, ‘how much?’ If anyone knows me, they know that I am a negotiator. Then as I was about to begin my negotiations, I heard the Spirit say, no, do not do it.  Through my many years with the Father, I have learned to hear his voice. I am glad I listened.

That Saturday, they were supposed to come to my home to complete the work, and they did not show up because it was raining. Then the weather was terrible most of the coming week, and I was getting more frustrated, and my husband said, do not worry, they will be here when they can. Finally, the weather was just right, and they came and completed the job.  He had a team of guys, and it took them two days to complete their part. I was so excited that we did not have to hurt our backs and be exhausted for weeks trying to complete it all. They hauled away three big trailers of bushes, sticks, and roots away. Then he gave me an estimate on a couple of other things that we want to get done to our home.

I almost missed out on a fantastic deal being impatient. Anything worth having is worth waiting to receive. What are you tired of waiting for? What seems to be taking so long that you now think it will never happen?  I am learning that people are willing to help sometimes, you just need to ask.  It is also a good thing to offer to help someone else. Maybe someone needs help with yard work, planting, or walking a dog.

The things I have found most helpful is to be busy while you wait. It makes the waiting period go by quicker.

Enjoy your life!
