Good Things Come to Them That Wait

Patience is a virtue, and if you ever had to wait, you understand why. I always heard good things come to them that wait, but when you are the one waiting it, seems to be the furthest from the truth. I would say, hold on and be patient because what is to come is worth the wait. This week my family and I were still working on our yard. This was a significant undertaking that none one of us expected. We were working, lifting, digging and more. At one point, we felt like we should have planned this out or recruited some help. Then out of nowhere, a man comes up to us to offer yard services. We did finish the front part of the yard ourselves.   He walked around our yard with me and told me what he could do, and of course, it all sounded fantastic, but in the back of my mind I was thinking, ‘how much?’ If anyone knows me, they know that I am a negotiator. Then as I was about to begin my negotiations, I heard the Spirit say, no, do not do it.   Through my many years with the Fat...

A Different Point of View

This week I reflected on what it means to be with family. Family can include anyone you care about, and it does not have to be limited to a blood-related person.   Time is valuable, and some would say it is worth more than money. During this pandemic, some people are finding themselves with free time, while others are busier than ever. How are you spending your time? I was asked to provide my Bio, which is a statement that describes you, your accomplishments, and anything else you want someone to know about you. Thinking about Bio's lead me to think, what could someone say about me? How would my family or friends describe me?   You could ask yourself the same questions, and would the people you love respond the way you think they would? How do you want to be remembered? Are the things your doing today helping others see you the way you want to be seen? I have spent more quality time with my family, and I love it! I have learned through many trials and tribulations that t...

Perception

At this moment, we all are experiencing the nationwide pandemic of COVID-19. While some have given up on their hopes and dreams for 2020, others have begun to thrive. I consider myself fortunate to see all the acts of kindness that are circulating. Communities are coming together, people helping each other, people dropping off groceries, and FB coming together to donate supplies to those in need. Neighbors are mowing each other's yards, and the list could go on. These acts of kindness have inspired me to take action, as well. You do not have to be rich to make an impact. A simple phone call could brighten someone's day, or even offering to drop off a cooked meal is helpful. Where others see famine, choose to see opportunity. While others may see social distancing as isolation, choose to see this as a time to connect with any and everyone as a virtual connection has become a reality at this moment. It is all about perception. Perception is how one perceives or interprets s...

Getting This Blog Started Took Faith and Motivation

When I was first inspired to create a blog there were so many thoughts running through my mind like,  'you know you don't have time for this' and 'who is going to read it'. I finally decided enough was enough! I was going to start what I set out to do and we all know we make time for the things that are truly important to us. How many times have thoughts, ideas, and visions come to you and you just simply shrug them off? How many million dollar ideas have you come up with only to have someone else act on them first? How many times have you said, I am going to spend more time with my family and never get around to it? How many of your children are now grown and no longer live with you?  We all get bogged down with this thing called 'life' and as one things leads to another we just can't seem to get everything done. I once heard a speaker say, "we all are given 24 hours each day, what are you doing with your 24 hours?" This resonated with me ...
